Miami Padel Club’s Road to New York: Chasing Redemption

The regular season of the Pro Padel League has come to an end, and Miami Padel Club has secured a spot in the much-anticipated New York Finals, closing a journey filled with challenges, excitement, and unforgettable moments.

The team kicked off their campaign at home in Miami, represented by Eduardo Alonso and Agustín Tapia on the men’s side, and Virginia Riera alongside Jessica Castelló on the women’s side. While the women fell short of reaching the Podium Day, the men delivered a stunning comeback. After dropping the first set 6-1 against Cancún Waves in the men’s final, they bounced back with a 6-3 second set and sealed the title in a thrilling 10-8 super tiebreak. It was the perfect start and a statement for Miami.

Their next stop was San Sebastián, where once again the women struggled to find their rhythm. The men, now with Tapia paired with Federico Chingotto, reached the third-place match. In one of the biggest surprises of the season, they fell 6-4, 6-2 to Juan Tello and Jon Sanz of the New York Atlantics, leaving crucial points on the table.

Guadalajara hosted the last regular-season event. Miami’s women, this time with Sandra Bellver and Laia Rodríguez, showed signs of progress but couldn’t make it to Podium Day. On the men’s side, Chingotto and Alonso rose to the occasion once again. After losing the first set 6-4 to Lucas Campagnolo and Juan Tello of the New York Atlantics, they struck back 6-4 in the second and closed the match with a 10-7 super tiebreak win, claiming another podium for Miami.

With these results, and thanks to the men’s squad, who scored more points than any other men’s pair in the league, Miami Padel Club finished the regular season in fifth place overall, comfortably qualifying for the New York Finals among the top eight teams.

Beyond results, the team’s spirit has been one of their biggest strengths. Despite ups and downs and several lineup changes, Miami has kept a tight, family-like atmosphere and a competitive edge. For the Finals, the projected roster includes Agustín Tapia, Federico Chingotto, Sandra Bellver, and Virginia Riera, ready to face Arkansas Matrix on the men’s side and the powerful Flowrida Goats duo of Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay on the women’s side.

Last season, Miami fell just short of the ultimate prize, losing the championship final to the Flowrida Goats. This time, they return to the stage with one clear goal: redemption.

The mission is set — bring the trophy home.

Vamos Miami!
