Miami Padel Club Shines in New York Finals

The journey of Miami Padel Club at the New York Finals was filled with intensity, determination, and unforgettable moments at the iconic Hammerstein Ballroom. The women’s team, formed by Virginia Riera and Sandra Bellver, faced a tough opening match against tournament favorites Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay of the Flowrida Goats. Despite their best efforts, the Miami duo fell 6–1, 6–1, ending their run earlier than expected.

On the men’s side, Agustín Tapia and Federico Chingotto carried the Miami colors with brilliance. Their road began against the Arkansas Matrix duo of Alejandro Arroyo and Iñigo Jofre, a match they won with authority by 6–4, 6–3. The semifinal clash brought another challenge, Leandro Augsburger and Juan Rubini from the Flowrida Goats, but Tapia and Chingotto delivered a masterclass performance, securing a 6–3, 6–2 victory and a well-deserved place in the final.

The championship match turned into a true spectacle. Under the lights of the Hammerstein Ballroom, Tapia and Chingotto faced Lucas Bergamini and Jairo Bautista of the San Diego Stingrays in a thrilling battle that kept the crowd on edge. After a tight first set, Miami’s pair showcased their trademark chemistry and power to close out the match 7–6, 6–3, claiming the men’s title at the 2025 Pro Padel League Finals.

Although Miami Padel Club finished third overall in the combined standings, behind the New York Atlantics and San Diego Stingrays, the season ended on a high note. With Tapia and Chingotto’s magic on court and a promising women’s team looking ahead, the club is already focused on the next PPL season and what the future holds for North American padel.

Beyond the action, the New York Finals offered a unique experience. The Hammerstein Ballroom proved to be a spectacular venue, transforming a historic theater into a vibrant padel arena filled with energy and excitement. The atmosphere was electric, with fans fully engaged

throughout the weekend. Even comedian Andrew Schulz joined the fun, sharing a lighthearted hit-around with Tapia and Chingotto, while players also enjoyed taking in the city’s skyline from the top of the Empire State Building, a perfect ending to an unforgettable season.
